The DC hip-hop duo OSHUN have just released a new track titled 'East', along with a brilliant video which features the two joyfully dancing alongside school kids. 'East' and 'Lifted' are two tracks which have been added to OSHUN's most recent album Bittersweet Vol. 1, forming the deluxe version. Both tracks feature rapper Proda, hailing from Newark, NJ who is the duo's in-house producer. 'East' is an up-beat song, with OSHUN's trademark celestial production made up of quirky synths and heavy bass and drums, not too dissimilar from the production style of Flying Lotus. The rapping is wholesome as ever, as the duo address glowing spirits, kundalini and planting of seeds. The chorus is fantastically catchy as OSHUN sing in harmony, alongside Proda's invigorating rap. 'East' is a wonderfully uplifting track, channelling a similar energy to that of Bahamadia, with OSHUN's wonderfully loose and easy style of rap. -Ellie Rose-Davies
